Little Girl Room - Theme Ideas

So for weeks now Jason and I have been stalking Babies R Us just getting ideas and planning for either sex. It's been so fun and yet so frustrating not being able to make any purchases! And yet here we are again, 70% positive unfortunately is not enough of a positive to make any purchases so I guess it's a couple more weeks until we can get busy and getting ready for our new baby (Girl?) - So now we have made the decision to start focusing that direction and I've made some good headway on room theme Ideas. I want it to say girl but not in every direction you look. EI: no pink walls, lol. But I have found a set that Jason and I both really like and can see it working out perfectly in our room. We'll keep the walls green as they are now but add a chair rail and use a neutral beige on the top portion for balance. Below is a picture of our study now as it is so you can get an idea of the space and below that is the crib set my mom is so kindly purchasing for us, which I am in LOVE with. It converts to full size bed which will be awesome to grow with her. And then below that is the bedding that we've picked out... its all so exciting and I can't wait to see it come together! I'm sure I'll change my mind here or there but I am just so excited to almost be at the commitment stage of my planning!

So this is our study... soon to be our little girls room.

This is the crib set we picked out. Our will be a little darker in a cherry finish.

This is our Bedding set that we are looking into purchasing.

Ultrasound Video

Wow... Wow... Wow. That's about how I felt when I went to my ultrasound on Monday. For the past few weeks I've been so nervous and scarred that maybe something was wrong just because I hadn't seen the baby in almost 8 weeks! I didn't know what the baby moving felt like and I could only assume that I was feeling the movement. I kept having dreams that I would be at my ultrasound appointment and that my baby's eyes were where the ears were and the ears were where the eyes were! (That was a tongue twister... hopefully that reads better than I typed it!) The past few times I've been in for check ups my blood pressure has been reading high. However the good news is that they did find out that I just have high anxiety and as soon as I calm down and breathe properly that it goes right back down to normal. Go figure... Anxiety! But all the worrying soon came to an end as I sat in the Dr.'s office and we started to see what we had in there. Jason wanted to be there but due to work obligations he couldn't make it. So I had my mom come with me and video taped it for Jason and everyone else interested to see. The video is just amazing and it's so neat to see the baby moving! I guess I just thought it was going to sit still, lol, so that really caught me off guard as you'll hear in the video. And please just ignore my voice... I sound like a little kid and I am just in awe of everything! And to find out the sex you'll just have to watch below!!! The Dr. said after the ultrasound that he's 70% positive so I guess we'll find out for sure in 4 more weeks! Enjoy!! Next post I'll share names and baby room theme Ideas! yippee!

Sic Spero!

As most of you know Jason is a very talented guitar player. When we first met he was in a hardcore, punk rock band called "The Victims". They played together through high school but after graduating they stopped playing. Jason and the best man from our wedding, Derek (Drums), started a new band called "Bad Case Of Courage." They played for quite some time... adding and losing other members till they landed on a good fit of people and changed the name to "A Tragic Fall". This band played for quite some time and had a pretty good following. Unfortunately as most good things do, the band split and went their separate ways. Jason still remains good friends with almost everyone he's played with, minus a few bad apples here and there, and those kids have a special place in my heart. He was asked to start a new band with some new friends he met from another band that they used to play with back in the Tragic Fall days and the love came right back. Few edits here and there and now the band called "Sic Spero" is on the fast track to becoming something big. It's a mix of Jason, Luke (a Tragic Fall Band Member), Elli (Ariel Second), and two new boys that fit right in, David and Allen. Their first show was a huge success as the opening band for the Texas Buzz at Scout Bar here in Houston. I know how hard these guys work and the outcomes proves that they've got what it takes to make it big. I'll be sure to post videos from their shows and keep everyone posted on their success! Jason's Big Promotion!

Most of you who know us know that Jason is one of the hardest working people out there! No matter what he does or when, he puts his best into it and always comes out on top. About a year ago Jason made the move to a new exhibit company called Advent. Jason started off as a your typical booth designer and construction detailer. Over the past year he has excelled putting his best foot forward and taking on more positions in the company whether it was asked of him or not. I was extremely proud to hear just a few days ago that Jason was promoted to a managers position! He's worked so hard to get where he is now and I can only imagine where it will take him in life. So here's to my little manager and all of his hard work! If Jason is half as good as being a dad as he is a boss, our little one is going to be one lucky kid!

How The Oehrleins Came to Be....

Jason and Kimberly met back in their high school days at the good old Deer Park High. Kimberly had recently graduated and had just moved back from a summer at Santa Barbara California. Jason was still currently attending Deer Park High as a senior and was very into music including having his own punk rock band called the Victims. They had both met each other in the past but the timing had just never worked out as one of them was always in another relationship at the time. Finally one fine day the stars aligned and these two star crossed lovers got their chance. It was LOVE at first glance for these two... They went on to surprise everyone and moved in together a month after Jason graduated, left to face the world all on their own. That December Jason popped the question and a September wedding was in the works! After careful planning, all of their savings, and plenty of help from family and friends (including picking up wedding jewelry the day of... thanks Andrea!) the big day went off without a hitch! The Oehrlein's have since then bought a house that they have been renovating since the papers were signed. Jason Oehrlein currently works at an exhibit firm called Advent on the Northwest side of Houston where he is the Director Of Engineering Services and sole bread winner for the Family. Kimberly Oehrlein recently quit her job as a project manager for a design company called Terry Pro at which she worked for almost 5 years for. All in which seems to be good timing as Kimberly and Jason have recently announced that they are expecting their first child!! Jason will continue to climb the ropes at work while Kimberly will become a full time mother. This will be the first grandchild on Kimberly's side and the third on Jason's side of the family. Whatever the future brings Jason and Kimberly (+1) will be happy to take it on together!
